Guilloche is an enamel technique that involves a very detailed design. This technique was most popular in the late 1800s/early 1900s. This locket is exceptional because it has two enamel background colors. We start with the white in the middle that meets a golden border and spreads into a beautiful pale blue. On top is a stunning purple flower. This locket has the original cloth on each side and has probably never be used. The 30 inch sterling silver Italian chain is not as old as the locket but the length gives it a very Art Deco feel. A very rare and special piece that you will enjoy every time you look at it.Please note: There is a tiny chip in the enamel on the back of the locket. You can see this in the photo above.
