High quality mother of pearl like this naturally has an opalescent effect to it. This is a stunning 1940s compact made by Elgin American that is as beautiful today as the day it was made. The powder it once held inside is all almost completely gone. This would be a lovely mirror to carry in your purse or to have on your vanity.
